Napanee To Honour Famous Daughter, Upstage Hip Kingstonians

The Town of Napanee will honour Avril Lavigne with a permanent plaque on Saturday at the Town Hall council chambers. This announcement takes place a few days after Kingston City Council debated honouring their own Tragically Hip.

Meanwhile, in Tragically Hipville, elected officials continue to pontificate the historical significance of Barrack Street, a street so historically insignificant that a former council crammed a white elephant entertainment centre on the site of the original Fort Frontenac, a French trading post and military fort built in 1673 and named for Louis de Buade de Frontenac, Governor of New France.

For those keeping score at home: Napanee 1 Kingston 0
